Governor Okpebholo Announces the Reopening of Edo Line Transport

Governor Monday Okpebholo has officially announced the reopening of the Edo Line transport service. 

During a recent inspection of the newly refurbished Edo Line terminal, the governor expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness and confirmed that the state run transport service will resume operations on June 27, 2025.

 
"The vehicles are ready. Everything is set. … We are trying to see how we can commence. The idea is to come and look at the level of preparation of our commencement," said Governor Okpebholo









Oligbe Henshaw, the Managing Director of the Edo State Transport Authority, added that the terminal is fully equipped with modern amenities including partitioned administrative offices, a CCTV system, and a central control room to ensure smooth operations.

The visit also marked the introduction of a new management team for Edo Line Nigeria Ltd., who are tasked with overseeing the transport system's day to day operations and ensuring its long term success.

The relaunch of Edo Line will provide residents with reliable and safe intra city and inter city transport options. This initiative is a key part of Governor Okpebholo’s broader infrastructure agenda, known as S.H.I.N.E., which includes extensive road upgrades across Edo South particularly on Sapele Road, Temboga Road, and Palace Road.

Service management: A new leadership team will handle all transport operations
