CRISTIANO RONALDO has sent Donald Trump a plea for peace with a signed football shirt.

The superstar sent a special, customised gift to the US president.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump was given a signed Portugal football jersey by Antonio Costa, the head of the European Council and a native of Portugal. The two posed for a photo, with Trump holding up the shirt.

On the back of the jersey was a message from Cristiano Ronaldo that read:
"To President Donald J. Trump. Playing for peace."

This message comes at a tense time, with a war currently ongoing between Israel and Iran.

At the G7 summit in Canada, Trump said he is committed to helping both countries move toward peace. He told reporters, “I’m not looking for a ceasefire, we’re looking at something better than a ceasefire.”

He also posted on social media:
“We will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place.”

Trump later left the G7 summit early and gave Iran a two day deadline to end its nuclear program. When asked about what might happen next, he didn’t give details but said, “You’re going to find out over the next two days.”
